Our Vision

In our corner of the world where children with developmental disabilities still need to be seen and accepted, we hope to be the organization that supports them and their families by helping them discover their potential to become productive and thriving members of society.

To provide programs that will equip children to join mainstream schools and be a resource for parents and educators.

Meet the Team

As teachers of Roomful of Learners, we have worked with children diagnosed with different disabilities such as Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We work with all children, including neurotypical ones, who simply want to enjoy or become better at reading and writing.

Founder

Pia Pulido

Teacher Pia has only known one thing to do and that is to teach. She has been teaching for twenty-seven years in both general education and special education settings. Teacher Pia began with an undergraduate course in BS Psychology in Assumption College. With the urge to learn more about child development, she took a Master’s degree in Psychology in Ateneo de Manila. It was during this time that she began her career in special education in a center called Therabilities, where she taught for eight years. A year after, she found herself studying again, this time to strengthen her skills as a special education teacher. She went to Bank Street College of Education to pursue a dual-certification degree in general and special education. In 2012, she established Roomful of Learners to focus on helping children with learning disabilities develop reading and writing skills. The programs were found to also work with neurotypical children who wanted to enrich their skills. So in this little world she has created, Teacher Pia realized her dream of having all children with different abilities in one space, helping one another and learning from each other. She continues to work towards her dream of making this happen in a larger scale in different communities.

Teacher Armi

Teacher Armi has been working with Roomful of Learners for 11 years. Her quiet and comforting presence among our students has allowed her to work effectively with them. Also a registered nurse, Teacher Armi took her education courses and decided to continue working in the area of special education. A favorite of many of our students, Teacher Armi continues to work hard to help children develop the skills they need while getting them to become more confident.
